Every 4.5 minutes, a baby is born with a birth defect in the United States^[1]. Unfortunately, many of these defects go undetected during prenatal scans, at a time when they are still easily treatable. This is caused by limited access to maternal care as well as the complexity of the defects.

Ultrasound imaging and interpretation are inherently subjective, demanding specialized expertise to accurately interpret fetal anatomy and scans. This results in a variance in the quality of care at a time when it matters most. The current process of identifying fetal anomalies is both time-consuming and challenging. This issue is exacerbated by a global shortage of maternal healthcare providers, particularly in rural areas.
